Explosion 1: Saturday the 9th of December will be a memorable day for many children in Newham.                                                  
8-Point Star: A Fun Day was organised by UpsideofDowns  (a support group for children with Downs syndrome) and Cerebral Palsy Network Newham (a support group for children with cerebral palsy).                                                         
Vertical Scroll: The event took place at St Mark’s Community Centre in Beckton. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and many parents, carers and children turned up for the party. In his opening speech,  Mr. Ally the Chair of UpsideofDowns welcomed all the parents and children. 
Vertical Scroll: He expressed his gratitude to all those who have helped towards this Fun Day. UOD was launched in January 2006 and has since then been working towards developing services for children with Down’s Syndrome and their carers. Among those who helped, were Hilary Phews from Newham Carers Network, Carmella from the Hartley Centre, Mr Rabs from Diva Entertainments which incorporates Honey Kalaria Dance academy and Mr Chaudry the principal of  Victoria College of Technology & E-Commerce. 2 Students from the Princes Trust based at Newham College of Further Education  also came to give a hand. The students were responsible for the music and playing some games

The atmosphere was really great and many activities were available, including face painting, drawing, pass the parcel, karaoke and many others.

Plenty of homemade food was on offer such as samosas, chicken bryany, Moroccan dishes, sandwiches etc;etc.
